CRITIQUE FORUMWelcome to theText Box: I’ve set up a Yahoo group called
TEENAGE AUTHOR CRITIQUE FORUM.
Follow this link and sign up and you will be able to post chapters of your work and read each other’s.
Here are the rules!

1. Limit each post to 3000 words. Split the chapter into two if necessary. Please post your chapter in the ‘files’ section. If you don’t have a file and need help creating one, email Jill. Make sure to inform the group when you post something so we all know to go and read it. Short posts of under 1000 words may be pasted into an email.

2. For every criticism, give one compliment. There is always something good you can say. Ex: Great character name, nice description of the car, funny dialogue, etc. We are not here to tear each other down, but build each other up.

3. Give one critique for every one you receive. We need to be fair and it’s no fun if everyone won’t get involved. You learn a lot from critiquing, so jump right in and give it a shot.

4. Keep it clean. No vulgarity, swearing, sex, and gratuitous violence in the writing. A good writer can write about these things without showing them. This is the one exception to the show vs. tell rule. Normally we want you to show us the story, but in this case, we don’t want to see or hear these things. Tell us tactfully and move on with the story.

5. No personal insults or threats to each other. Be nice.
